As a Sustainability Practice Specialist (SPC), FDI Hub Founder Ihedimma Kawekwune stepped down practical fire safety knowledge to staff of Emisk Foods and FDI Hub, following the SPC certification training hosted by GIZ.
The session translated the knowledge into practical workplace safety awareness, helping staff better understand fire risks, prevention, and appropriate response procedures.
FDI Hub delivered a regulatory compliance sensitization session for entrepreneurs and MSMEs participating in the Sustainable e-Commerce for Growth (SE4G) initiative in Edo State, helping participants understand regulatory compliance as a prerequisite for formalization, market access, and business growth.
SE4G was established through Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs), via Edo Innovates, in partnership with GIZ under the SEDIN programme, to equip entrepreneurs, MSMEs, and startups with digital business and e-commerce skills.
FDI Hub Founder, Ihedimma Kawekwune, spoke on "Management of Food Safety and Hygiene in Food Processing Environments" during a 4-day training workshop at the TETFund Centre of Excellence.
Organized by TCEAFT in collaboration with the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, Faculty of Agriculture, UNIBEN, the workshop brought together food processors, food service owners, chefs, water factory operators, quality control personnel, health inspectors, and agricultural extension workers.
FDI Hub designed and initiated a FoodTech incubation programme for technology-skilled young people developing AgriTech solutions, using the GIZ ICSS CREATE framework to guide participants through problem identification, business model development, and pitching.

FDI Hub, in collaboration with Emisk Foods, hosted SMEDAN’s Cluster Development Support Programme for the Obehi Fish Processing Cluster in Benin City, bringing members together for capacity building and discussions on strengthening their businesses.
The programme supported the development of a co-production hub, with SMEDAN providing stainless-steel processing tables and batch-coding equipment to improve shared processing capacity and product readiness.
FDI Hub provided hands-on technical and food safety training to SIFA Foods, a catfish farm in Anambra State, equipping the team with practical knowledge and techniques for producing high-quality dried catfish to export standards.
